Incompatibility between Pro Capture drivers and macOS 14 (Sonoma)

Magewell is aware of incompatibility between our Pro Capture PCIe capture cards Drivers and the recently released macOS 14 (Sonoma) that causes the cards inputs to not be recognized by software applications. Our engineering team is working hard on development of a new driver to resolve the issue. Our current expectation is that the new driver will be available in February 2024.

In the meantime, as a temporary solution, customers may want to consider rolling back their operating system to macOS 13.6. Note, however, that rolling back the operating system is not recommended by Apple, so customers would be doing so at their own risk. We recognize that this is not ideal, as customers wish to stay up to date with their system updates, but it may be the only possibility for using the Pro Capture cards until the new driver is available.
