1. Key features of Flex I/O SDI 4i2o
- Supports 4 channels input and 2 channels output at the same time. The 6 channels are totally independent.
- Support 10 bits video processing.
- Support 16 channels audio input and output.
- Support extraction of timecode;
- Support obtaining ANC data.
2. The max input resolution is 2048*1080p60 (DCI 2K standard).
3. In terms of input capabilities, the Flex I/O retain all of the functionality of the Pro Capture Cards, including FPGA-based video processing, support multi-stream, up-down scale for each stream.
4. In terms of input capability, what new features does Flex I/O have that Pro capture doesn’t have?
- It supports dual-link SDI input (as some camera adopts this standard). Either of the two interfaces can be paired to capture such SDI input.
- It supports 16 channels audio while Pro capture only supports 8 channels.
5. In terms of output capabilities, the Flex I/O also adopt FPGA-based video processing. The output (to other device) settings can be different from what is captured at the computer.
6. Software compatibility
In input part, it works with all the software that are compatible with Pro capture family. For output part, we are not sure right now as we need help of software companies to do further tests.
7. Currently the major output card suppliers are BMD and AJA. While AJA offers expensive solutions. BMD’s products is not very flexible in terms of the capture setting and output setting shall be the same.
